Hikari/Kagura (ToQger): No Matter What

Changes will happen between you and me. But always remember that I'll stay with you no matter what... ~ Florence Joyce

Only a heavy sigh escaped Kagura's mouth as she continued watching Hikari having another argument with Right. Reasoning with someone as active as Right seemed to be a daily chore for Hikari since they were kids. Her friend should've known that for a long time now.

In a while, she ended up smiling at the sight. Ten years had passed and their ToQger days might be over (at least, until they were needed to help the Rainbow Line again). But it seemed that things hadn't changed at all. At least, on the way they treated each other.

Then again, who was she lying to? Of course, something had changed. In those 10 years that passed, after all those adventures they experienced, she knew in her heart that something had changed. Kagura saw that as she looked at Tokacchi and Mio who might have been debating at the moment. But on a closer look at their relationship, one could see how obvious the changes were.

"Why are you staring off to space again?"

That voice snapped her out of her musings and looked up, only to see Hikari approaching with a nearly annoyed look on his face. She couldn't help laughing at the sight of it.

"Right ran away from your argument again, huh?" Kagura commented as soon as Hikari sat beside her on the bench.

This time, Hikari was the one who sighed. "He said he still have to help his mother with an errand she asked him to do. We'll continue this tomorrow, he added as he ran away from me again."

"You should've get used to it by now, Hikari. It was always like that since we were kids."

"And yet it looks like he hadn't changed since then. I really don't know what to do with him." A calming silence followed suit before Hikari spoke again. "But I guess I'd still prefer this Right over any other personality he had. I still won't mind if he doesn't change this part of him."

Kagura smiled as soon as those words came out of Hikari's mouth without looking at her. But that smile soon faded when the word "change" revertebrated in her mind. She recalled something with regards to that as she was thinking about it a while back.

At that point, she couldn't help wondering if Hikari wouldn't mind the change happening in her over time since their adventure. But then again, would she even have the guts to say it to him in the first place? Thinking about it alone was more than enough to send her heart in a frenzy state. What more if she actually mention it to Hikari face to face?

"I also won't mind if time will do something to change us in some ways," Hikari continued before Kagura could even say anything.

She looked at him soon after, only to be surprised to see him looking at her rather intensely. "Hikari?"

"I promise you. I'm not going to leave any of our friends even if we had already changed for the past 10 years. I won't even leave you, most of all," he continued that further increased the tempo of her heartbeat.

In spite of the shock that reeled her in, Kagura smiled as she heard that. For now, maybe she didn't have the guts to tell it to him. But knowing that Hikari would remain by her side whatever happens, even if more changes occured, it was enough.
