Stinger (Kyuranger)/Sela (Zyuohger): Wait For You

If it's not you, then there is no love. I knew that I loved only you, I'll wait for you here... ㅡ Only One Person, FT Island

It had been quite a crazy night, if one would ask Sela. Then again, with rowdy companions such as her friends, the word "crazy" was just something normal to them. Even so, she would acknowledge at one point that she wasn't herself lately.

And she knew that her friends were well aware of the fact. So they made it a mission to make her smile or laugh or just unwind from all the overthinking that they knew she was doing lately.

The one way they thought of about that was to take her to a fireworks display happening in the plaza. She did know that it was scheduled to happen after the series of festivities that lasted two days. On the third day of the festival, the plaza was even more chaotic to the point that they could possibly be a stampede if people weren't careful. Thank goodness, nothing like that had happened.

Once again, a sigh escaped her lips as she watched the almost clear night sky. She couldn't help frowning at the lack of stars in the sky that night. And she knew she couldn't attribute it to the fact that it rained earlier. Yes, it was clear and there should've been stars there.

But it seemed that even the night sky reflected the one thing that was lacking in her heart for quite a while now.

The one person whom she considered her star.

'Well, that was ironic...' A bitter chuckle escaped her lips at the realization since 'that person' she missed so much ㅡ whether she would acknowledge it or not ㅡ truly came from the stars.

The universe itself.

"Do you think he knew you missed him?"

The question that Amu had asked only made Sela turn to her friend. She could only reply with a sad smile and looked at the starless ㅡ and also cloudless ㅡ night sky once again.

"Should I even expect anything now that he's truly far away from here?" Sela asked back instead before sighing a few moments later. "Sorry. I shouldn't even be complaining to you about this."

"It's okay. I know how it feels, anyway."

She didn't even have to ask what Amu meant about those words. She was well aware of another young man that caught her friend's attention and was also far away from any of them at the moment.

"Do you feel sad about it, as well?" For some reason, Sela chose to ask that.

Amu nodded. But without the melancholy that she was sort of expecting to see in her eyes. How was that possible?

"But even though I know it would take a long time for me to see him, I don't have any reason to dwell in that every time. We still have a life to live here, regardless of the distance. He said that to me. And I decided to hold on to what he said to me before they all left here. For now, that was enough."

Come to think of it, that guy did say something similar to Sela before departing Earth.

"He did say that he would find a way..." she muttered as she looked up to the night sky once more. "I wonder if he was looking at the same stars that we do right now, as well."

"It's a little different in his end, that's for sure." Ahmu laughed after saying that.

Of course, it would be different. It would be several light years away, or maybe even a different universe.

But it didn't matter. Sela would just hold on to his promise to her.

Well, being inside the Orion looking at the vast dark space in front of Stinger had appeared to have become a habit to him ever since returning to their world. Not that it mattered, though.

The two individuals inside the ship knew the reason why their young commander was acting that way at the moment.

"He's thinking of her again, huh?" Kotaro whispered to Raptor who was just standing beside him.

The android nodded after she finished typing in her report and soon eyed Stinger.

"It's just a little sad that they couldn't stay in one world, though. I mean, it's obvious that they wanted to be together since that last time."

To their surprise, Stinger spoke and faced them. They were expecting him to be angry for talking about him behind his back. But it didn't appear that way to them.

"It's not something that can be achieved easily, even if we do want to do that."

With a sigh, the scorpion man stepped away from the window and approached his friends.

"We both have duties to fulfill at the moment. And those duties could become a matter of life and death to the people that we decided to defend from whoever would want to destroy them."

Well, it was understandable. But even so...

"That doesn't mean both of you were not trying to find a way to make some sort of miracle happen," Kotaro commented.

Stinger nodded and smiled, though this one didn't reach his eyes.

They could find a way. He made that promise to Sela before he left the other Earth to head to another space mission together with his friends/subordinates. At the moment, he needed to focus on what he could do to make sure he and the other  active Kyurangers could finish the task at hand.

"It will happen, eventually. I just need to be patient for now."

For now... it was all he could do. Until the day he could finally be reunited with her ㅡ regardless of the lack of knowledge as to where it could possibly happen.
