Koh (Ryusoulger)/Sayo (Kiramager): Like The Gentle Breeze

Sometimes, like a gentle breeze, I suddenly think of you... — Day and Night, Jung Sung Hwan

It was between sunset and nightfall that Koh decided to head to the bridge near where the hospital was. It had become a habit ever since he started going there for more than three months already. Of course, it was something unusual for him to do, considering that he would usually head somewhere that most would deem as chaotic and loud.

Then again, it doesn't happen all the time.

Koh had another reason for him to head there. Only, he never mentioned that reason to any of his friends at all. He had no idea why he couldn't do so, by the way. There was nothing wrong with him telling the truth. And yet, he couldn't find it in him to mention all about it to them.

Three months had passed since his last encounter with that certain doctor. Three months of doing something that he would call crazy since he was sure she didn't even have any idea that he would go there where he could see where she worked.

"Looks like it has been a busy day for them again..." Koh uttered and just showed a wistful smile as he looked at the hospital building where he knew she would be doing operations.

But even though she wasn't aware that he was  there, it was okay for him. As long as he knew that she was there, that was all that mattered to him.

"I thought you once mentioned to Juru that you would be traveling around this time. I didn't think you're finally done doing that."

That voice had caught him by surprise, without a doubt. His eyes widened and rashly turned to the source of that voice before he could even stop himself.

"Uh..." That was all he could utter as he looked in shock at the young woman still wearing her doctor's coat, standing just a few feet away from him.

One other reason he couldn't speak was the sight of her knowing smile. As if —

"Why do you like going here at this time, anyway?" Sayo asked as she started approaching Koh. "There was nothing special about this bridge, from what I can remember."

Once again, no words came out of Koh's mouth — which was unusual, by the way. But this time, he smiled and looked at the night sky. Now, with stars starting to appear one by one.

"There's something I can see clearly from here," he replied, after a long while of contemplating. "And I also like the view of the sky from here. It's similar to the ones I can see in the village where I came from."

"Is that so?" With a nod, Sayo finally stopped approaching Koh and stopped beside him. She, too, started looking at the night sky. "I would only go here in the morning, though. Before I go to work."

"Really?"

She nodded and faced Koh this time. "I can see something nice from here during that time, as well."

Of course, it sparked something in Koh's mind as soon as he heard that. "And yet you mentioned a while ago that there was nothing special here."

"To the others, maybe. But not to me. I didn't think it'll be the same for you."

Koh only responded with a chuckle and this time, she faced Sayo. Much to his surprise, she was looking at him with a look that was akin to amusement and curiosity.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" he couldn't help asking.

She shook her head with a smile and looked up to the night sky. "Thank goodness no major surgeries happened today. No accidents, either."

"Is that why you don't look stressed out right now?" he joked, which only earned him a slap on his arm.

"Hey!"

"But it's okay. You still look the same, anyway?"

Sayo frowned and looked at him. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means what it means." There was no way he would blurt out another truth about his words to her, though. That would be embarrassing.

"I tend to come here when I want to think of you, though."

It was almost a whisper. Just softly spoken. But for Koh, it still felt like it was spoken in a loud tone. When he looked at her, she just smiled.

"What do you mean by that?" He still wanted to ask that, even though it might generate an embarrassing answer, in his opinion. "Wait! You said you would come here before you head to the hospital to work.?

Sayo nodded as her sweet smile stayed. "I wanted to think of something good before I start dealing with something far more serious. At least, that's what I would do just to make sure I don't end up stressed while working there."

So... it was almost similar to his reason for going to that bridge. He just wanted to think of her as his day would end.

"I guess we're on the same page, then."

Those words, of course, could have several meanings to those who might have heard them. Then again, there was nothing wrong with taking things slow in the meantime.

And it all started with them just thinking of each other, just enough to make them go through their respective days and look forward to something beautiful every day. After that...

Who knows?

WRITER'S NOTE: I just realized while sorting out the photo edits that I (sort of) took out from my IG to repost, I have a lot of photo edits featuring this pair. And to think I haven't even watched Kiramager just yet. Yikes! With that said, you might actually see me write some more one-shots about them in the future. 😁✌️
